In 2021, our founder Priya Nair adopted Maple — a seven-year-old beagle mix with Type 1 diabetes. The vet's instructions were precise: 92 grams, twice daily, exactly six hours apart. Not ninety. Not ninety-five.
Priya set four phone alarms. She rearranged client calls. She cut dinner dates short. When a work trip to Chicago couldn't be avoided, she paid a pet-sitter $80 a visit and still lay awake at midnight wondering if the portions were right.
There wasn't a feeder that could do what a vet prescription actually required. So she built one.
